Lake Fenton Youth Football, Cheerleading and Pompon Scholarship

QUALIFICATIONS:

	The applicant must have been a member of a Lake Fenton Youth Football, Cheerleading, or Pompon squad for at least one season. Students that were members during the fall of 1996 or more recently are eligible.
	The applicant must be a senior in high school.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

A completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the president of the Lake Fenton Youth Football League by April 15 of the applicant’s senior year.

SELECTION PROCESS:

	A selection committee will make the decision as to which applicants will receive the awards. This committee will be composed of 4 or more current members of the Lake Fenton Youth Football League and the superintendent of Lake Fenton Schools (or designee). No selection committee member may have a family member that is an applicant.
	Long time involvement in the program is considered a plus in the selection process.
	Financial need and/or high grade point average are not necessarily pluses.
	Letters of recommendation are optional.
	The selection committee may personally interview applicants.
	The personal narrative essay is important in the selection process.

ADMINISTRATION OF FUNDS:

	Two winners of up to $500 each will be selected. When possible, one of the awards will go to a football player, and the other to a cheerleader or pompon member. An alternate for each winner will also be selected.
	A check of up to $500 will be issued that is made payable to an accredited college, university or trade school. The award is intended to offset costs for tuition or fees required achieving a regular degree or trade certification. The check may also be made payable to the awardee if receipts are supplied indicating the amount paid up to $500.

Winners will be notified by May 15 of the applicant’s senior year.
