| Freshmen Blue 17 Bendle

The Freshman Blue team traveled to Bendle to face a very tough Tiger squad on Saturday and came out victorious, by the score of 17-6. The Blue Devil defense was tough all day, as Andrew Jackson, Jared Smith, Zack Webb, Gunner Lamb, Ben Thornton and Dakota Holzwarth all had great games. Bryce Davis had a key fumble recovery in the 3rd quarter as well. Liam King, Baylee Wheeler, Mitchell Bollinger, Jack Wolgast, Davison Emery, Jake Hawes and Rob Bentley also contributed in the defensive effort. Jackson, Ryan Franks, Thomas Talbot, Brendan Whitney and Holzwarth continued their fine play on the offensive line, providing many key blocks throughout the game. Peyton Knoll continued with his fine quarterback play and leadership as the offense was able to consistently move the ball. Ben Thornton scored on two nice long runs and kicked one extra point. Ben also added an 18 yard field goal in the 4th quarter, to up the lead to 17-0. Nik Brost, Kaelan Harbin and Ryan Hugan also contributed to the fine offensive showing. The Freshmen Blue (LF 1) are now 3 and 0 and will host New Lothrop this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The JV Black team got off to a great start Saturday with a 6 play 65 yard drive capped off with a 28 Jet for 38 yards by Neil Allor. Joe Ocenasek had a great shotgun snap to Merrick George, who handed it off to Allor. The run was set up with great blocks from Kyle Terchek and Cameron Marks. Ed Walterhouse put one through the uprights for a 8-0 lead. The defense played touch with some key tackles by Colton Schlitters, Stryker De Gayner, Cole Baldwin and Matthew Hoppe. We had some unfortunate injuries and were not able to hold the lead resulting in 32-8 loss. Tremendous heart and determination of the Lake Fenton Varsity Blue team was on display this past Saturday as they beat the Bendle Tigers 16-0. Because of several injuries the Blue Devils played with only 13 players and dominated the 32 member Bendle team. Logan Herm, Corey Pierce, Jake Corcoran, Robbie Kesler, Alex Holslander, Nate Franks, Alex Okopien, Grant Lamb, Jim Lyons, Bryce Fownfelter, Jeff Heller, Brent Maxheimer and Tony Sprague all came together, to play like champions. Corey Pierce broke a scoreless game in the 3rd quarter with a 3 yd TD run. Quarterback Logan Herm hit Nate Franks in the end zone for a 2pt conversion. In the fourth quarter after a tough defensive stand the Blue Devils paced by several key runs by Jake Corcoran scored on a 1 yd TD run by Pierce. Herm capped the night off with a 2pt.conversion run. The defense was lead by Alex Holslander and Jim Lyons with 3 tackles each. |
