The Freshmen Blue Team played a tough Bendle Tiger team on Saturday and
dropped a tough game by the score of 24 to 13. Bendle scored on their
opening possesion and then recovered a mishandled kickoff. The Tigers went
on to score on two interceptions in the first half and the Blue Devils were down
18 to 0 at halftime.
Merrick George provided some early second half excitement as he took the
kick-off all the way for a 65 yard score. Neil Allor scored the second
touchdown of the half on a 50 yard pitch around right end. George passed
to Allor for the conversion.
Robert Alexander, Josh Kesler, Brendon Davis, Raied Jawhari, Peyton Knoll,
Spencer Foerster, Zach Webb and Mitchel Bollinger all played solid games.
Special thanks to the Freshmen Blue Cheerleaders who were very loud and
supportive all game long!
In a defensive battle, JV Blue's Logan Herm connected with Trent Grimes for a 45 yd TD pass late in the third quarter and the JV Blue team went on to beat Millington2 6-0 and improve their record to 2-0. Defensively the Blue Devils were led by Griffen Wakeman, Edward Walterhouse, Mark Kotula, Aaron Cook and Robert Sparks. The offensive lineman made up of Kiel Cole, Justin Short, Luke Idoni, Tyler Frey and Ben Mikolajczk did a good job blocking and opening holes for Walterhouse who had 50 yds rushing on 10 carries. Herm had a successful day passing as he hit 4 out of 5 passes for 105 yards and a TD.
